Our 4-legged Assistants:

KEEBLER - Keebler came into our lives in July of 1997, At the time; we had a client who did animal rehabilitation. Keebler was this 1 pound fuzzball with these big beautiful blue eyes, He was SOOOOOO bad! We convinced Dr. Fuller to keep him because he was literally hanging upside down on the cage door bars when Jenny came in one morning. She looked at him and said “We have to keep this one!” Keebler wasn't the best-behaved kitten and many of you have scars to prove it. However, he grew into our resident “Diva”. Nothing makes Keebler happier than to have people come in and tell him how beautiful he is! He's the one who used to lie on the computer monitor and supervise us all day. He had a hard time adjusting when we changed to flat screens, but these days he's comfortable on the desk or the counters in the reception area.
CLARENCE - If you have stopped by our facility at all, you know Clarence He’s the one who will climb onto your back to lick your head or arm & groom your hair until he gets it just right – and then give you a ‘love bite’. Clarence came to us from the Richerson/Dimmitt family, he was so cross-eyed when we got him that he would often-times miss his jumps and land on the floor. As he aged, his eye problem fixed itself, except when he gets REALLY excited, and then they cross again. He wormed his way into Dr. Fuller’s heart and has become her baby. We are trying to convince him that love doesn’t have to hurt, so watch out if he nibbles ya! He really IS a good boy!

CLEDUS - Dr. Fuller first met “Cledus” at the animal shelter during a ‘Friends of Tri-City' meeting in 2008. They developed an instant friendship and she offered to put him up for adoption in the shelter's cage at our clinic. The staff fell in love with him before anyone else had a chance to get to know him! After much begging and pleading, Dr. Fuller finally agreed to keep him as a ‘Clinic cat'. These days, he spends most of his time in the treatment area and Cathi has become his adopted Mom. He is also known as “Baby Shamu” because he has gained weight since he has been with us – and off of the streets. “Cledus” has helped to fill the void that was left by “Graham” and “Nabisco”, our clinic cats who we lost in 2007. No one will ever be able to replace them in our hearts, but it's nice to have another kitty to love!

On behalf of our entire staff, welcome to the Pet Medical Center of Duncanville. Our staff understands that most pet owners consider their pets as one of their family members. That is just one reason why we understand that your trust in us adds up to a special responsibility. Our staff is long-term which enables us to build relationships and be knowledgeable about you and your pet.
The Pet Medical Center team keeps current on the newest medical standards in veterinary medicine, and these are reflected in our treatment practice
.
Meet our staff:
Dr. Donna Fuller
Dr. Fuller came to Cedar Ridge Animal Clinic (our former name) straight out of veterinary school in 1981. She is proud to have over 28 years experience with the PMCOD family! She bought into the practice the next year and purchased it from her partner, Dr. Mac Warren, in 1996.
Dr. Fuller graduated from Texas A & M with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Science and a DVM in 1981. She is a member of the Dallas County Veterinary Medical Association, Texas Veterinary Medical Association, American Veterinary Medical Association, American Animal Hospital Association and the American Veterinary Dental Society. She currently serves as a Director for the Friends of Tri-City Animal Shelter.
In her spare time, Dr. Fuller enjoys spending time outside with her own pets. She rides her Belgian / Quarter horse mare, “Goose”, and drives her Belgian gelding, “Checotah”, with her dogs, “Lilli” and “Minnie”, riding shotgun on the wagon seat. She has a goat, “Ross”, who follows her all over the pasture. She also has 4 cats – “Emily”, “Gypsy Rose”, “Tucker” & “Opie” - besides the 3 who live at the clinic, and enjoys working in her flower gardens and swimming.
Her husband, Ozzie Molina, is a fleet manager for Don Davis Auto Group. Her daughter, Corey and son-in-law, Brandon also attended Texas A & M (whoop!) and now live and work in Portland, Oregon.
Dr. Laura Anna See
Dr. See joined the family at Pet Medical Center of Duncanville in May of 2007. She graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor in Biomedical Science in 2004 and with a DVM in 2007. Dr. See is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Texas Veterinary Medical Association, the Dallas County Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Association of Feline Practitioners.
Her husband, Jeff, is a technology supervisor and high school teacher at a charter school in Dallas. Their children are two black cats, “Raven” and “Lynx”, and a cute but crazy dog named “Kit”, whom Dr. See enjoys training in her spare time. Dr. See also likes reading novels and has been known to devour an entire book in one sitting during her day off. She enjoys going to the movies and spending time with her two nieces, Amelia & Madeline, and her nephew Philip.
Her goal is to treat you with the same respect she would give her family and to care for your pets as if they were her own.
Your pet deserves the best care!
That is why we have Veterinary Technicians to assist in the care of your pet. A Veterinary Technician is your pet’s “nurse”. Whether they are drawing blood from your pet, placing an IV catheter or assisting in surgery, Veterinary Technicians offer your pet exceptional care. They are up-to-date on major developments in Veterinary medicine through continuing education opportunities such as seminars, workshops and regional & national meetings, as well as regular staff meetings.
Janis Cates, RVT - Lead Veterinary Technician
Janis began working full-time for us in October, 2003. She received her Registered Veterinary Technician license in June, 1990. She became our Lead Technician and Technical manager in January, 2005. On top of managing our techs and assistants, Janis keeps our equipment fine-tuned and operational. Her favorite things about her job are the staff, X-rays & surgeries and of course, the patients.
Janis is an amazing portrait (pet and people) artist and is an active member of our local community art group, the Duncanville Art Explorer Program. You can often see her at local events doing sidewalk art or you may have seen some of her work at the Duncanville Chamber of Commerce Silent Auction. She recently completed a beautiful drawing of the new Tri-City animal shelter which is displayed in the lobby and is being used in their press releases and advertisements.
Janis shares her home with two feisty Pomeranians, Ember Joy and Lady Bug and not to be forgotten is Happy, the Border Collie who crossed Janis's path at the local shelter.
Cathi Easterling - Veterinary Technician
Cathi joined our practice in June, 1990. She is a native of Duncanville. A truly happy soul, her laugh can be heard throughout the clinic. Don’t be offended if when you drop your dog off, his name is “Ralph” but when you pick him up, his name is “Sam”. She will rename them all to fit what she thinks they should be – and they seem to like the new names just fine!
Cathi shares her home with her 2 cats, “Emmit” & “Baby Girl” and the lights of her life are Amanda, Anthony and Madisyn, her grandbabies.
Her ‘baby’ at work is “Cledus”. When he came to live with us, Cathi became his adopted mom and they have a special relationship. The love they have for each other is obvious.
Tonna VerWiebe – Veterinary Technician
Tonna started with our clinic in the summer of 1994, part-time in the kennel. She worked her way up to technician and went full-time in June, 1996. Tonna is our ‘big gun’ when it comes to drawing blood. She found out while pregnant how uncomfortable it could be to have the nurse fish for a vein, so she vowed to improve her technical skills to make the animals as comfortable as possible (and she did!).
Tonna enjoys spending time with her husband John, daughter Samantha and her baby boy Keith. Their family adopted a crazy little kitten named “Sarah” who runs a hundred miles an hour everywhere she goes. One of her favorite things to do is to put her pink fuzzy mouse in John’s overnight bag. The newest member of Tonna’s family is “Macie”, an Australian Cattle Dog. She’s crazy like her ‘sister’ “Sarah”! She loves to chase her own shadow – she’s always got a friend! Tonna & John are trying to catch it on video, but no luck yet…
Faith Upton - Veterinary Technician
Faith first joined our family in February, 2007. She was only with us for about 6 months when she followed her heart to Arizona. She returned to us in August, 2008 as a veterinary technician. She started in the veterinary field at the age of 15 as a kennel assistant. When she turned 17, she decided that she wanted to be a technician and began training. Faith has worked for a couple of practices, including an emergency care clinic, but she is happy to finally be home at Pet Medical Center of Duncanville.
She is also a devoted college student, (studying to be a nurse). When she is not working or having her nose planted in a textbook, she loves spending time outdoors with the light of her life… her beagle “Lily”. By the way, if you miss a Cowboy game, just call Faith. She will be the first to tell you how her “boys” are doing. She is also our resident caretaker. Whenever we have a baby animal that needs special tender loving care, Faith takes over. Her latest success story is “Cam”, a gray kitten that Dr. Fuller’s husband found as a newborn in a parking lot. Faith cared for her night and day for weeks, until she was able to survive on her own, and now “Cam” has a forever home! We are very happy to have her bubbly personality and sparkling smile back where she belongs!
Debra Walker – Veterinary Technician
Debra joined the Pet Medical Center family in September, 2007. She comes from a larger clinic setting, but says that a smaller practice has a more personal touch that she appreciates. A veterinary technician with more than 20 years experience, Debra attended Texas A & M University for 2 years and comes from a largely surgical background.
Debra makes jewelry as a hobby but is actually quite handy at other crafts also: she knits, crochets and quilts as well. Her other interests include reading, astronomy, archeology and history.
A recent addition to her family is “Teddy”, a one-year old Shepherd mix from the Dallas Animal Shelter. “Teddy” is already making himself at home, having bonded with her elderly parents, especially her mom. Debra says “I feel pound puppies are more grateful to be adopted because they know what it is like to be homeless”.
Melanie Cline – Technician Assistant
Melanie started with PMCOD in 2003, working part-time in the kennel area. She now works full-time as a Technician Assistant and also helps anywhere else she is needed. She treats all of the animals as if they were her own.
Her daughter, Elizabeth, keeps Melanie and her husband, Chris, on their toes. To help with that, Melanie and her family adopted a Lynx point Siamese cat named “Rags” from Tri-City Animal Shelter. He & Elizabeth keep each other busy! Melanie shared a story with us one day that Elizabeth came onto the room crying. When they asked her what was wrong, Elizabeth said “Rags” won’t leave my room”. We all got a kick out of that! The newest member of their family is “Fara”. She is “Kit” & “Sunshine’s” litter-mate and has added a new level of fun and excitement to Melanie’s family!
Melanie attended and graduated from Cedar Valley College’s Veterinary Technician program. She has been a jewel in our crown and a treasure that we hope to keep for years to come.
Our Receptionists
Our receptionists assist you in many ways. They do much more than make appointments and answer phones. Our well-trained staff can offer advice on pet food, treats, retail items and dental care. They will be glad to assist you in any way they can, whether in person or on the telephone. Kathy Tracy
Kathy was a client at Pet Medical Center of Duncanville for many years before starting to work here in September, 2004. She is one of the friendly faces you will see upon entering our clinic. Kathy's always ready with a smile and a hug, or a tear and a tissue.
Kathy shares her home with her husband Brad, “Buster” the Golden Retriever – a gentle giant, also known as ‘Baby Huey' and “Bonnie” a Golden mix who came from Tri-City Animal Shelter. She's quite a handful – they should have named her “Marley”! Their 2 Ragdoll cats, “Indy” & “Reiki” have grown into gorgeous but huge cats who love to torment “Bonnie” – she has the battle scars to prove it…
Kathy is active in Friends of Tri-City and enjoys working with the animals. The joy and light of Kathy & Brad's lives is their grand-daughter, Krysta. Who knew they could love anyone so much?! It really IS as wonder-full as everyone says!! Bianca Hernandez
Bianca is another employee who started in the kennel. In the summer of 1994, she came to us as a co-op student from Duncanville High School. In 1995, she did her co-op as a receptionist, then left after graduation and went to work in the home health care field and later in downtown Dallas at a brokerage firm. We called her and asked her to come back in September, 1999 to work as a receptionist. Bianca is also in charge of our accounts receivable and is the person to talk to if you have a question about your account. She has been a bit more difficult to reach lately because she is attending classes to become a Registered Nurse.
Bianca shares her home and life with her son, Isaiah who is a little fireball and keeps his mom on her toes ALL the time. Her pets, a dachshund named “Mr. Burns” and a senior cat named “Pookie” are rescued animals and Bianca has served as a foster mom for countless animals until placement could be found. She is also the proud parent of 2 new additions, “Lola”, and “Cupcake”. ”Lola” is a lovable little beagle from Tri-City who has made herself a permanent member of Bianca’s family. She is very smart & has been known to learn tricks during Bianca’s lunch break. Bianca is no longer allowed to go to the shelter. The last time she went, she rescued a 3 lb. Chihuahua named “Cupcake”, who is a bundle of love with physical disabilities. She won Bianca’s heart and is right at home with her family! Jennifer Lumpkin
Jennifer first joined our team in 1998-99, her senior year of high school, as a co-op student. She worked in our kennel then moved up to a Technician Assistant. Eventually she became a Technician. After she received a nasty bite to her finger and was placed on light duty in the front office she decided that was more her speed and became a receptionist.
Jennifer stayed with us until 2004 when she went to work at a hair salon as a receptionist. In 2007 she heard we might be looking for another receptionist and she was interested in coming back and we were glad to have her. Jennifer shares her life with her two cats Roo and Radley.
Our Kennel Crew
Raven Giuliano – Lead Kennel Assistant
Raven is one of our biggest characters. She LOVES her job -and is such an asset to our family! Raven takes care of your pets while you are away. She is very attentive and she quickly learns each individual animal’s ‘quirks’. For example, if your pet does better in a bed while boarding, even if you didn’t bring one, Raven makes sure they have a nice, squishy bed for the length of their stay. Raven has an interest in continuing her education and eventually hopes to attend the Cedar Valley College Veterinary Technician program.
She adopted a feral kitten from one of our clients (we called him Dr. Lector because he acted like he was going to bite you). She changed his name to “Duncan” and he is now one of the sweetest kids on the block – sometimes. Raven happened across a short-haired Siamese mix cat who she named “Blue”. Don’t worry though – “Duncan” is still in control of the house! Last, but not least, there’s “Sunshine”. She & her sisters “Kit and “Fara” occasionally meet at the clinic for play dates. They are always happy to see each other and seem to remember that they are related!
Menna Cerrone - Kennel Assistant
Menna is a junior at Duncanville High School and is involved with Skills USA Leadership program, and participates on the Duncanville Swim Team. She plans to attend Texas A & M and to become a Veterinarian.
Menna has said that working at Pet Medical Center of Duncanville and being a part of it, is her first step in fulfilling her goal and is very thankful and excited to be here. She has taken a variety of classes offered at her school, such as Animal and Canine Science, Health Science, Environmental and Wildlife and Medical microbiology.
Menna has 3 dogs and 2 cats of her own – she's an animal lover, “always has been, always will be”! |
